Frequently asked Questions...
How do I place my order? - To place an order you may meet with me in person, or send me photos and detailed instructions via email to [email protected]. Please get me any invitations, color swatches and photos as soon as possible.
When do I pay for my order? - A non-refundable deposit must be placed at the time you place your order. This amount is half of your order total. If you are receiving delivery with your order the full balance must be paid 48 hours in advance.
How much are your cakes? - All of my cakes are custom priced, depending on the servings needed and the decoration. Some buttercream designs are included in one color.
What if I want my cake to be bigger, but don’t need as many servings? - I offer great faux tiers. These can be decorated in either fondant or buttercream. If you know you want to place an order with a faux tier, please do so with plenty of time so we are able to guarantee the necessary size.
How should I carry my cake home? - I always suggest allowing the cake to ride on the floorboard of your car, or in the very back of an SUV. Do not let anyone hold the cake, nor let it ride in your seat, as it is not level. Please be sure that your car is cool, and the air conditioning is running.
How should I store my cake? - Some cakes should be stored in the refrigerator. Other cakes should be stored in a very cool home on the counter. Please be sure to ask what is best for your cake.
What if I need to cancel my order? - Any order cancelled within 14 days of the due date will not be refunded. If you cancel your order prior to 14 days of the due date, I will issue a refund on any paid amount over the 50% non-refundable deposit which you would have paid at the time of your order.
Do you deliver? - Yes, I deliver! However, deliveries are on a first come first serve basis. I start my deliveries at $60.00 within 25 miles of Hurst, Texas, Tuesday - Saturday. If your order requires a difficult delivery time, there will be an additional cost. Sunday and Monday deliveries start at $80.00 within 25 miles of Hurst, Texas.
Can you ship cakes? - Unfortunately, I do not ship my cakes. I want all my cakes to be received in perfect form, which I am unable to guarantee if I ship them.
Additional Cost Factors: (If details make your head swim, stop here! ;)
1. SERVINGS - The number of people you will be serving is the first criteria to consider when calculating cake cost.
2. CAKE FLAVOR – The basic white, chocolate & butter are the least expensive to make.
3. ICING VS FONDANT– Fondant is more time consuming to make and to work with, therefore, more expensive than buttercream icing.
5. DESIGN Details – Below is an example of how different the costs can vary depending on the design you choose for you cake.
There is a big difference between the two designs below:

1. SERVINGS - The number of people you will be serving is the first criteria to consider when calculating cake cost.
- The more people = more cake = more money.
- My wedding cake price starts at $4/person and goes up depending on the factors below.
2. CAKE FLAVOR – The basic white, chocolate & butter are the least expensive to make.
- The more ingredients we add to the cake, the more costly. Strawberry & lemon would be the next cost tier.
- Then German Chocolate & Italian Cream, etc…
3. ICING VS FONDANT– Fondant is more time consuming to make and to work with, therefore, more expensive than buttercream icing.
- It also doesn’t taste as good. However, some of the modern day designs can only be created with fondant. I prefer to work with designs that use a minimal amount of fondant, or none at all.
- However, if you’re set on a particular design at the expense of taste, I will make it happen for you.
5. DESIGN Details – Below is an example of how different the costs can vary depending on the design you choose for you cake.
There is a big difference between the two designs below:
- The hot pink cake is much more intricate/detailed.
- It is hand-piped, which is more time consuming than the buttercream icing on the white cake.
- The ribbon has been bedazzled, which was done by hand, and makes it much more time consuming.
- The ribbon also needs to be attached to the cake.
- They both have flower costs, and the white cake could be more costly, depending on the type of flowers you choose.
- The cake toppers are approximately the same in price. You have the option of purchasing your own topper and bringing it to me, or I can order it for you. (See the Helpful Guides page as to where to purchase cake toppers).
- The white cake feeds approx. 70 people and would cost $3/person plus the cost of flowers & the topper. ($70 x $3 = $210 + $35 for topper = $245 + flowers, which depends on the kind you choose.
- The hot pink cake feeds approx. 170 people and would be $5.50/person, plus the cost of the flowers & the topper. ($170 x $6.00 = $1020 + $35 for topper = $1055, plus the cost of the flowers.
- If the white cake served 170 people, the cost would be $510 (1/2 the price of the left), plus the cost of the topper, $35 = $545, and flowers.
